Hi Everyone,
This presentation (you will find it below) by Roderick MacIver of Heron Dance Art
Studio is most sublime and so inspirational! Having kept track of Rod for years, it is
about time I shared just how creative he is as an author and poet. In this short, 5-
minute video, you will love the elevated beauty of the poetry, images, and flute melody.
Included in this newsletter are personal photos of his art from my collection.
In the video presentation, Rod shares this luscious, delectable quotation:
“I never get lost because I don’t know where I am going.”
(Ikkyu – 15th-century Buddhist monk.)
In one of my recent newsletters, I shared ideas about learning to watch our mind and
to notice the tendency of the mind to move us into the future. Furthermore, when we
get into the act of striving or wishing for something that we don’t have, we weaken our
own magnetic field. When we let go of the idea that things will be better in a couple of
months or that, in the near future, something we desire will manifest, our entire energy
field becomes much stronger and acts like a powerful magnet. The difference between
a weak magnet and a strong magnet is that the robust magnet has its internal
magnetic domain aligned. We too, as increasingly empowered beings, are vastly more
persuasive when we stay in the present moment.
Let go of the idea that there is a more desirable future waiting for you. Let go of the
idea that if you wait 6 months, the stars will be more aligned. Try to let go of the
construct of the mind that informs you that there is a time “when” you will be free,
whole, enlightened, at peace, and happy.
Give up the plan of waiting or postponing, or holding out for something in the future.
(Have I emphasized this enough yet? ;))
Be in this moment. Show up all of you for this moment. Be in this moment exactly as
you are. Become the deliciousness of the moment, like a fragrant fresh flower that will,
with no effort, become the fruit and seeds. Being in the moment is the most divine
expression of yourself that you can manifest. If you are fully the most divine you in this
moment, you set yourself up for being the most divine you in the next moment.
Fully being in the present moment is fundamental to our sacredness. It brings greater
depth and deep-rootedness to our beingness. It means that we don’t try to change
anything about our current experience. We don’t have to think we have to act a certain
way. Being this way brings about an intrinsic freedom. We are not what we want. We
want what we already have.
You will find that if you practice this way of being, you will gain greater and greater
momentum for your future, a present moment flowing into a river of flowing momentum!
It doesn’t mean that you don’t make plans or set goals every now and then, it just
means that you spend more time practicing RIGHT HERE, RIGHT NOW.
Many blessings of love and light, elizabeth
